[ Taichi doesn't realize how questionable that statement is. ]

[ He's not gonna respond after that, he's packing the few things he owns............. ]

[Hikaru's not sure how to even take that but wow it's a good thing nobody else can read that text.]

okay but new...?? what happened?

[But when Taichi doesn't respond then he realizes he probably did just go ahead and start packing. Well, Taichi must be fine but still. There's questions.]

[ Taichi is at his door in about 35 minutes with a suit case and a giant Akapoyo-kun plush tucked under his arm. Akapoyo Jr. is filling out the hood of the hoodie he is wearing. He's got a medium small cardboard box in one hand and a grocery bag of junk food and fancy water in the other. He doesn't knock. Instead ]

Hikaru I don't have any hands!

[ if he doesn't hear him he'll just headbutt the door ]

[Thankfully for Taichi's head, Hikaru hears and he goes to the door. This may seem like a lot but actually, Hikaru would probably do this if he was going to spend a single night somewhere so he isn't too surprised.]

Did you burn down your place or something?

[No judging. Zuko did that to their place in Prismatica.]

[ Hikaru may notice there is chocolate on his forehead and forearm, even if he changed clothes so his clothes are clean. ]

Huh? No! I live in the inn, that'd be a disaster. I just.. don't know how to get chocolate off the ceiling...? Or out of carpet... heh, it was time to move out anyway!

[ Even without a full kitchen, he was able to make chocolates with the microwave and the mini fridge, but given he can't stop from making a mess even when he's cooking normal food in a real kitchen... he just looked at the inn and panicked and didn't even know where to start. '_' He makes his way in to get his stuff set down, then holds out the box that contains the disaster-causing element: a handmade chocolate box with some chocolates in it! It's nothing intricate but it should taste good. ]

[How did Taichi get it on the ceiling?! That's a question he has to ask but he's distracted by the chocolate being given to him. It isn't his first time getting chocolate on Valentines but this is special. This is chocolate from Taichi, his first relationship, and he's really happy.] You went through all of that for me? [Ugh, his heart. He's smiling when he goes to his side of the bed and pulls out a box of chocolates. Not homemade nor very expensive though they were the most expensive he could get considering his lack of money. It wasn't cheap chocolate, at least. He's still smiling when he hands them to Taichi.]

Way to one-up me. I can't compete with your handmade chocolates but I don't think I would have made anything good. They're still filled with my feelings, though, Taichi-senpai~

It wasn't much to go through! I didn't realize how big of a mess I made until I was done. I was just having fun because I was thinking about getting that right there. [ He points at Hikaru's smiling!! He's really enjoying it. ]

My first Valentine's chocolates...! Hikaru...!! [ He's practically jumping with glee when he closes the distance to him as Hikaru's coming back. Rather than taking the chocolates though, he's going for a hug. At least he isn't leaping into his arms this time (he doesn't want to knock the chocolates on the floor.) ]

[What a great opening to make a joke about Taichi just wanting his mouth but he keeps it to himself. This is special for him so Hikaru doesn't want to be too mean and tease him. There will be plenty of times where Taichi opens himself up to a joke anyway.

He hugs him back, still smiling. It didn't take much at all to make Taichi happy but it still made Hikaru feel proud of himself for being able to do so.

Not letting go, he murmurs near his ear.] Want to go out on a date with me in a couple of days? [It took a while but he finally saved up enough money to take Taichi to dinner...at a very regular restaurant that was still below Hikaru's tastes but he wasn't taking him to some fast food place at the very least.]

[ Though he doesn't actually say "finally" the question is asked with enough gusto that it's obvious.]

Sorry I was trying to save up money. [There's a sarcastic tone to his voice but he's not all that annoyed. It's just hard when you're fired from your jobs for not being good at customer service or manual labor but that seems uncool so he's not telling Taichi that part.

And in the end he's only taking him to Olive GardenOasis but it's a restaurant!]

You could've taken me to the park and I would be happy.

[ He seems happy enough just from the idea of it happening, really.]

Should I wear something shave? Or do you want the juicy pants?

[ He is teasing, please don't say yes, it's one thing to wear them for a dance it's another to wear them in public like normal clothes. ]

[Hikaru knows that. Hikaru knows he could have just ordered take-out and asked Taichi to watch a movie and he would have been happy with that being their date. But Hikaru wasn't. Hikaru had standards and even if Taichi did not have the same standards, Hikaru still wanted something good for him. It was their first date after all.

Arms wrapped around Taichi's waist, he pulls back with a grin.]

Wear the juicy pants.

[He's also teasing but he'd like to see Taichi squirm.]

If you like them so much, I'll get another pair and we can wear them as a matching couple's outfit!

[ He's doubled down, internally chanting 'please say no.'

Though actually, he would love to wear matching couple's outfits but... Not juicy pants. ]

[Is he meeting his bluff...? Taichi has some sense of style. Hikaru will not believe that Taichi would choose to wear this.

He's going to say Taichi's trying to tease him.]

Do you think we can get me a blue pair?

[Now Hikaru's doubled down. What an amazing Valentines day.]

[ They're both going to regret this so much. ]

Oh, I can get you a blue pair. I'm really gonna do it, and we're both really going to wear them in public.

[ One of them has to back down from this before it's too late.. ]

Great. Matching juicy pants on our first date ever. I'll get Kaoru to take a picture for us so we can remember it.

[He's saying this with deadly seriousness. At this point they're both being idiots and only hurting themselves.]

Kaoru-san is definitely going to let us out the door like that.

[ At this point, he's relying on Kaoru to save them both from themselves. ]

Kaoru will definitely let us out like that and then everybody will see us in matching pants that say juicy across our asses.

[Kaoru save them from their idiocy because seriously they're talking about their first date and it's also their first valentines and they're doubling down on juicy pants because neither of them wants to give in.]

Kaoru-san is sensible and wise, he will absolutely know to share those photos with the whole world, because everyone wants to see how cute our bums look in these pants.

[ Taichi isn't sure if Kaoru is going to save them or not, this could be terrifying.. ]

[It is entirely possible that Kaoru will let them both suffer because they're being idiots.

Hikaru really needs to get them out of this which would be as simple as saying he gives but he is no quitter!]

Maybe talent scouts will see your butt!

Great idea. Wearing juicy sweatpants and sunglasses for our first date ever is a really good idea.

[Saying it out loud, he feels like an idiot and he should just say he gives. This is a terrible idea and he cannot be seen like this.

[ Taichi's definitely giving Hikaru puppy eyes at this point. It's obvious they both know it's a bad idea and are just refusing to give in. ]

It will make things incredibly memorable!

[With Taichi looking at him like that, Hikaru really thinks he should give in but why can't Taichi? He's the one that started this! Now that he's remembering that detail, he's only feeling more stubborn...

Despite the fact this is going against everything their fashion tastes can stand for.]

I was really looking forward to dressing up a bit for you but this will be way better.
