[Hikaru knows that. Hikaru knows he could have just ordered take-out and asked Taichi to watch a movie and he would have been happy with that being their date. But Hikaru wasn't. Hikaru had standards and even if Taichi did not have the same standards, Hikaru still wanted something good for him. It was their first date after all.

Arms wrapped around Taichi's waist, he pulls back with a grin.]

Wear the juicy pants.

[He's also teasing but he'd like to see Taichi squirm.]

If you like them so much, I'll get another pair and we can wear them as a matching couple's outfit!

[ He's doubled down, internally chanting 'please say no.'

Though actually, he would love to wear matching couple's outfits but... Not juicy pants. ]

[irritated]

[Is he meeting his bluff...? Taichi has some sense of style. Hikaru will not believe that Taichi would choose to wear this.

He's going to say Taichi's trying to tease him.]

Do you think we can get me a blue pair?

[Now Hikaru's doubled down. What an amazing Valentines day.]

[ They're both going to regret this so much. ]

[ One of them has to back down from this before it's too late.. ]

Great. Matching juicy pants on our first date ever. I'll get Kaoru to take a picture for us so we can remember it.

[He's saying this with deadly seriousness. At this point they're both being idiots and only hurting themselves.]

Kaoru-san is definitely going to let us out the door like that.

[ At this point, he's relying on Kaoru to save them both from themselves. ]

Kaoru will definitely let us out like that and then everybody will see us in matching pants that say juicy across our asses.

[Kaoru save them from their idiocy because seriously they're talking about their first date and it's also their first valentines and they're doubling down on juicy pants because neither of them wants to give in.]

Kaoru-san is sensible and wise, he will absolutely know to share those photos with the whole world, because everyone wants to see how cute our bums look in these pants.

[ Taichi isn't sure if Kaoru is going to save them or not, this could be terrifying.. ]

[It is entirely possible that Kaoru will let them both suffer because they're being idiots.

Hikaru really needs to get them out of this which would be as simple as saying he gives but he is no quitter!]

Maybe talent scouts will see your butt!

[ That sounds like a horrifying scenario. ]

We should wear sunglasses to complete the look.

Great idea. Wearing juicy sweatpants and sunglasses for our first date ever is a really good idea.

[Saying it out loud, he feels like an idiot and he should just say he gives. This is a terrible idea and he cannot be seen like this.

But he can't just give in????]

[ Taichi's definitely giving Hikaru puppy eyes at this point. It's obvious they both know it's a bad idea and are just refusing to give in. ]

It will make things incredibly memorable!

[With Taichi looking at him like that, Hikaru really thinks he should give in but why can't Taichi? He's the one that started this! Now that he's remembering that detail, he's only feeling more stubborn...

Despite the fact this is going against everything their fashion tastes can stand for.]

I was really looking forward to dressing up a bit for you but this will be way better.

[ Unfortunately, Taichi is convinced this is one of Hikaru's games, and if he just gives in on Hikaru's games, then Hikaru will get bored of them. He has to see this through and he will stubbornly refuse to lose!! ]

Who says we can't dress up? Juicy-chic! Sweatpant suits!

[ This is horrifying. Stop it, Taichi, stop your mouth right now. No, it's too much. He clutches his head. ]

AHHHG, WHY DID I EVEN SUGGEST THAT..!?

[He lets out a deep breath of relief.]

I wasn't going to back down either! I don't back down. You almost had us go out in juicy couture sweatpants on our first date.

[Like Hikaru has no blame at all in this.]

I was joking at first!! I can't do the sweatpants suit though! It's too much! You can't make me!

[ He's got his hands on Hikaru's shoulders now just holding on for dear life. ]

Like I want to! You know what my mom would say if she saw me?! We're not doing it! I forbid it in our relationship.

[He wraps his arms around Taichi and in a completely serious tone says:] We'll never look bad on my watch. [Except they almost just did...]

She'd definitely blame me for it! We can't do it! I want your mom to like me!

[ Like meeting the parents is ever going to be a problem for them... he's definitely not ready for that anyway. He still hasn't even won over Kaoru, he doesn't think... ]

I'm trusting you! [ Taichi fell for it. ]

[Hikaru is pretty sure that Taichi would get eaten alive by the Hitachiin women, especially their grandmother. Not that they'll ever meet each other's parents...probably.]

We're going to the Olive Oasis. I don't think it's going to be very authentic with a name like that but I doubt we're going to find any good Italian here. The place definitely isn't formal so don't worry too much. [Honestly, the place looks cheap and if Hikaru had money then they wouldn't be going here at all.] I think it's called a family restaurant or something like that?

[ Tell that to Kaoru who has later convinced him he has to bathe with them?? It's confusing. ]

Ohh. Family style is always fun, that means we can share everything! Olive Oasis here we come!

[irritated]

Sharing, huh...[Said in that tone that means he's having a Rich People moment. This time he's assuming it must mean they have to share because a family can only afford one single meal for everybody so they just share that one meal. Truly tragic.]

Well, when I get more money I'll try to take us to a better place but for right now...[This is all that he's got.]

Yeah, it's like platters so you can buy different kinds of food and then just put whatever you want on your plate. Usually it's for a lot of people.. We probably don't have to do that, though.. and it could mean something totally different here.

[ He scratches his chin in deep thought, trying to figure out whether or not he's heard anything different. Other worlds, man. ]

They're cool, don't worry. I'm sure it's gonna be awesome because I'm with you. Hehe, though one day we'll be able to afford to go on a yakiniku all-you-can-eat date. [ Is that his "better place"? ]

[irritated]

I'm pretty sure this place isn't like that. The reviews said it was just a normal family restaurant? [...But his normal and other people's normal might be different.] Is it that weird to just have your own plate? I mean, we can share. I don't mind. I'll even feed you~ [He's mostly joking about that.

And then at Taichi's idea, Hikaru considers that and that sounds like the most commoner thing he's ever heard. It definitely isn't better by Hikaru's standards but also Hikaru cannot even afford Hikaru's standards right now!]

And maybe next time we can go to a place that like...except please don't do a food contest repeat. [It wasn't Taichi's sexiest moment. Just saying.]

Don't tempt me, I'll eat my whole meal from your loving hands!

[ He knows he's joking though, so two seconds later Taichi says: ] Kidding~

[ This time, at least, he doesn't say "unless" or anything. It'd be kind of annoying to be fed his entire meal, but he certainly won't say no to a couple of bites.. ]

Oh, no no, it's nothing like that! Yakiniku places like that have to be saved up for and gone to on a special occasion. Besides, that contest wasn't any fun.. I've never enjoyed food less in my life. [ He was so sick after that.. ]

And I was going to feed you the chocolates I bought you and everything. Too bad. [Though feeding him chocolates is a lot different than feeding him an entire meal because seriously, at that point, it is just annoying. Not even romantic.

Also Hikaru doesn't really get this whole idea of yakiniku being a special occasion. Must be a commoner thing but he'll still remember.]

Yeah, it wasn't your sexiest moment. Tono was definitely unsure. [Kaoru only became more unsure but he won't share that bit.]
