About
Part of the "Puppy Pair," Taichi is a very excitable, social young man. He can be loud, friendly, and tries (though doesn't always succeed) to break up any fighting. He wants to be a good older brother despite Tsuzuru’s opinion that he acts like a little brother, and genuinely wants someone to love him romantically. He's a little high-strung and often-times too eager to please others. Mostly because Taichi's goals in life are simply: he wants to be popular.

So much so that he'll put in a ton of effort into things just to be noticed, sometimes taking too long and it no longer being relevant by the time he's mastered it. In order to make himself stand out more, he started dying his hair red, keeping up with the hottest fashion trends, got piercings, and more. He puts in a lot of effort into his appearance, even if it never really seems to pay off for him. (He’s the kind of guy who would definitely wait in line at a Supreme store for 3 hours, okay?) Acting was the first thing that Taichi saw himself as having a chance in and felt the rush of really enjoying himself while doing. While he's willing to dedicate himself to the hard work, he also doesn't always believe in himself to the point of being able to trust that that will be enough. This can lead to him sometimes making bad decisions, including deception and destructive behavior even if he knows it's wrong. He does have a conscience and ultimately isn't a bad person, though he's taken great strides to improve that kind of behavior and not betray the people who care about him again.

He's still got a penchant for trying to achieve his goals in ways that don't rely on his own talents, since he doesn't have a lot of self-confidence after years of experience not being able to stand out no matter what he tried. He truly looks up to Banri and Juza, who he thinks of as exemplary men, and relies heavily on Omi, who is pretty much everything he wants to be. He's asked Omi to teach him to be more like him, though Omi refused because he believed Taichi is good as he is. He's quick to listen to the advice (or orders) of others, including washing his face like Azami instructs, or doing basically whatever Yuki tells him to. The other side of this is that he does have jealous tendencies and tends to put others above himself, finding himself envious of Banri’s ability to pick up any skill without effort or Juza’s passion and purity in his love for theater. He tends to lift others up despite not doing the same for himself, sometimes using colorful language to do so (example: Omi is an “angel of muscles.”) He’s not without a fighting spirit, however, and can get competitive if the mood strikes-- particularly with Tenma, who he called the “emblem of all [his] insecurities” in his Portrait. When he’s feeling down, his go-to solution is to eat food he likes, though he can’t really cook so it’s often junk food, and then go talk to his friends. Taichi confesses in a blog post that there are a lot of things that get him down, but talking with everyone always helps him take his mind off of it if it’s something hot dogs can’t fix.

Most of the time, however, Taichi is the ball of energy-- especially first thing in the morning, and loves large gatherings like festivals. Though he will get into gaming, unlike Itaru he is free-to-play only and would rather do things in real life than in a game given the chance. A member of the Autumn troupe, he’s honed his athletics and eventually becomes the best out of the group at martial arts (tai.. chi… ahahahaha)-- but at his current canon point, he’s only generally athletic and capable of doing action stunts because of it, even in ad-libbed street performances. He also seems to have fun with the way people compare him to a dog-- if Yuki calls him a dog, he’ll go "arf arf!" and on Tasuku’s birthday, he offered to be his faithful dog, mentions it’d be fine if Azuma was his owner, etc. This high-energy behavior is often reflected in his speech style as well, as he’s a pretty noisy person and in Japanese has the speech tick “-ssu” at the end of some sentences. That said, he does end up with an early bed time because he uses so much energy, though if someone else (like the director or his troupe members) are staying up, he’ll try to power through it so he can go to bed at the same time. That said, the way Taichi’s brain works makes him act a little airheaded from time to time, doing things like wanting to get chalk to outline the body when an unconscious person is found or having to actually learn that girls aren’t just giggly moeblobs (thankfully, he’s past that). He uses text-character emojis in his typing. Taichi has a penchant for nicknaming a lot of people (Ban-chan, Juza-san, Omi-kun, Director-sensei, Sakyo-nii, Sakkun, etc.) to feel closer when they let him. He doesn’t clean his room (Omi does it for him). He jokes around about things he wants sometimes and then adds “unless…?” to give people an opportunity to correct him without getting hurt. He’s not good at academics, but can catch up when given positive-reinforcement based tutoring (Tsumugi, not Sakyo) and a focused, hard work.

Overall, Taichi is really just an energetic puppy in human form doing his best to overcome his weaknesses and find his spot in the light among his friends. (And become popular!!)

CRAU Taichi spent a few months in Prismatica. During his time there, Taichi had to learn to adjust to living on his own after a brief stint living with Banri before his leader left the world. After some mild trauma from events, Taichi talked himself into getting back on track and gained a fair number of friends. While trying to get a part in a play at the Golden Muse, he worked part time as a sewing assistant in the costume department. Taichi's moonlacing was limited to handholding, save for a last-minute confession and an almost-kiss from Hikaru after he attempted to throw a surprise party for him (in cahoots with Kaoru, though given the sudden game end, it was moved up from Firialia to a panicked solo party before the end.

Appearance

hair Red and black (dyed), black (natural)

first impressions Taichi is a bright, sunny boy who often reminds people of a puppy within seconds. Considered the "moodmaker" of his troupe, he's often loud and cheery, if easily excitable. He often can give people younger brother vibes, despite that he's an older brother himself.

Taichi likes to dress fashionably, though at the start of Avalon, until he can afford some new clothes, he'll be wearing his second costume from Autumn Troupe's DEAD/UNDEAD play sans pink eye contacts, with a thick, black flight jacket that Hikaru Hitachiin gave him for his birthday during his time in Prismatica.

Skills
Acting!
Taichi is a stage actor from a canon about acting. As a member of Mankai Company's Autumn Troupe, he's part of a troupe that specializes in action. Taichi typically plays roles with physically smaller roles, such as younger siblings and girls-- as these are roles no one else in his troupe is visually capable of pulling off. As a child, he went to acting school as a child and attended a high number of auditions for television and movies, but was only able to get roles as extras. He realized he had a passion for stage acting and through a series of events, he ended up joining Mankai Company where he was able to begin truly getting experience on stage. As of his canon point, he has held one co-lead role as the heroine of a post-apocalyptic play called The Stranger, but has not yet had a lead role. He has much improved and gained a number of fans (particularly with children and yakuza) and is fairly skilled at near-death and death scenes.

Movement!
Taichi isn't very good at most sports, but he does have a couple of talents when it comes to movement. He's a skilled skater and is capable of performing a number of tricks with both a skateboard and a hoverboard after practice in Prismatica. In Isle of Avalon, he has his skateboard with him. Taichi is also a good dancer. He's known for performing a full-length dance of Single Fellas (his world's version of Single Ladies by Beyonce) in his universe and during the non-localized collaboration event with I-Chu, TRY! Shining Collab Stage (read fan translation here) he performed both as singer and back-up dancer.
Music!
A3! characters all perform in group, duet, and solo songs. Taichi also participates in a collaboration event with I-Chu and performs on stage. In addition to singing, Taichi spent the summer event learning Taiko drum for an on-stage performance. He's shown to have an interest in rock music beyond that as well, dragging the Director to both karaoke and teaching her to headbang and sing callbacks for the Guilty Rock Summer concert. You can listen to songs that Taichi sings in here on YouTube.

Hyper-Origami
Taichi can make all manner of origami at a rapid pace. That's it. He proudly touts it as one of his skills. In addition to origami, Taichi is shown to be handy with arts and crafts all around in a number of blog posts and events, including creating decorations for events by hand.
Ultra Yo-Yo!
Taichi spent tons of effort in middle school to learn to perform yo-yo tricks. Though he only mastered them after no one cared about yo-yo anymore, he can still do some pretty awesome tricks. If anyone cares, anyway.

Fashion/Sewing
Taichi's favorite hobby is collecting and reading fashion magazines. He enjoys keeping up to date on his fashion with a preference for streetwear. After the events of A3's main story, Taichi took up gophering for Yuki and assisting with costume development. He learned sewing, at first professing that he had nightmares about a sewing machine trying to eat him, but eventually he became proficient enough with basic sewing to stop stabbing his fingers and garner some praise from Yuki. He continued to practice in Prismatica (because he didn't want to get yelled at if Yuki found out he hadn't been) and took a part-time job as a tailoring assistant at the theater there. Though he doesn't have much experience in design, he has created a glove design as a gift for Hikaru (under the soul-crushing guidance from Kaoru.) He doesn't particularly want to go into design, but he does enjoy sewing now compared to when he first started.
