Taichi doesn't really call anyone else without suffixes for the most part, so it's going to take some getting used to. He'll say the name fifty times in his head so he gets it right. Hikaru, Hikaru, Hikaru, Hika-- Distracted immediately by the gift, Taichi doesn't make it to 50. He'll probably be okay, though.
Instead, he goes to open up the present and pull out what's inside. Taichi isn't thinking anything like Hikaru didn't do enough. This is way more than he expected, and he's positively beaming as he holds it up. Ahh, he wants to wear it right now!! But he has something else he wants to do more, and hopefully Hikaru uses the two seconds he carefully places the jacket back in the bag to prepare himself.
Because Taichi Nanao is launching himself to jump into Hikaru's arms. He can either catch him, or fall to the floor and have pink-haired boy on top of him happily laughing in glee. ]
[Even if Hikaru isn't used to doing this whole friend thing by himself, it doesn't mean that he isn't used to being touched. Even if it weren't for having a brother he's attached at the hip to most times, he also has Tamaki. Tamaki has never understood personal space and its fine because really, Hikaru doesn't either.
So he doesn't mind that Taichi launches himself at him or that they end up on the floor. He's only laughing, happy.] Good because I had no time to do anything else because somebody told me last minute! [In rich people world, a week is definitely last minute. But he's not too irritated. His happiness is infectious and he smiles up at Taichi, not in a rush to get him off.]
Hey, I wanted to tell you...I wasn't exactly nice to you the first time we met and I don't know, I never told you this before so I guess I'm sorry? [It doesn't sound sincere but Hikaru's not used to having to apologize and this is a real attempt.] You made things easier and I never exactly thanked you. So yeah, you know. Thanks. You've made this place a lot better for me. [Hikaru knows he's blushing and it's embarrassing but well, he knows Taichi had to hear that.]
[ He didn't expect to end up on the ground, but Hikaru is laughing which means he's fine, and a brief spike in his adrenaline followed by a flash of worry disappears as quickly as it came, replaced with mirthful giggles. He just lays on top of him and hugs him for a moment, his legs kicking back and forth a little in excitement. It doesn't need to be Sanguis to imagine a wagging trail behind him. It's no surprise he gets compared to a puppy often. ]
A hundred percent forgiven! I get yelled at a lot back home, it's no big deal. I made my best friend because of it.
[ He moves his hands to either side of Hikaru's head to push himself up, a warm smile still on his face. ]
I'm really glad I met you, Hikaru.
[ Ah, he's like an inch away from Hikaru's face.. He's really cute. Taichi finds himself a little pink in the face, freezing for a moment because his brain goes off when he likes someone, especially when he doesn't comprehend that he likes boys. ]

[Hikaru wants to tell Taichi he shouldn't just accept being yelled at. Even if Hikaru knows why he was yelling, it didn't mean Taichi deserved to be on the other side of that. But it's hard to care about that when Taichi just seems happy and hugs him like that. It's hard to really think about anything too serious when it's much easier to smile and laugh with him, hug him back. Hikaru doesn't mind the weight on him at all. Kaoru is often laying on him like this so it's normal.
Except when Taichi pulls back and then they're that close. It's hard to think about anything at all when they only stare at one another and Taichi is blushing a little and Hikaru is too. Why? This isn't a big deal or it shouldn't be. Why does it feel like it is? It feels like he should do something but what that is, he doesn't know. His heart is pounding so loudly that he's certain that Taichi can hear it.
His mouth feels like there's cotton in it but he says:]
I'm glad I met you too.

[ Taichi ends up staring at Hikaru quietly after that, not moving to get off but not saying anything either. It's been a while since he's felt a rush like this. It reminds him a little of the neighbor he used to like when they were kids. His heart would rush back then too, and when he first saw Yuki and thought he was a cute girl... Well, it still trips him up how cute Yuki is sometimes, like it's tripping him up how cute Hikaru is right now, with that blush on his face...
Taichi smiles, a little doofy.]

[It's an awkward position that Hikaru doesn't find awkward at all. Even as they just stare at each other and all he can think is that he really likes Taichi's eyes. Their shape and color. He likes how they seem so focused on him and that's nice.
Taichi's smile is nice, too, but when Taichi says he's cute; he gawks and blushes all the more. Struggling to come up with something to say. It isn't like he isn't used to compliments but this seems very different and so he does as he always does, makes a joke.]

[ He doesnt pull away from the finger, instead leaning into it so his cheek pushes up while he makes a weird whine sound. ]

[ He looks at him and bats his eye lashes. He's trying to tease him back. But he doesn't wait for a response and stands up, holding his hand out to help Hikaru up. ]
[It's a surprise when Taichi teases him back but it isn't unwelcomed. Unfortunately, he doesn't even let him respond and if Hikaru were to ever think about it then he may not have known what to say. Maybe he would have actually teased him, maybe he would have kept it going.
But if he did come over here to take Taichi out so he let's himself be pulled up. Although he let's go of his hand as soon as he's up, he goes to hold his other hand so they can keep holding hands. Hikaru had offered this before and he had stuck to it. Holding Taichi's hand wasn't a big deal and he needed help with chroma. That's what friends were for, right?]
I was going to take you to Lunatia Square? They had all that food they were selling on the streets and I thought you'd like that.
[ Taichi grins at that explanation. That's honestly the best kind of food?? Definitely not the healthiest but Taichi loves eating it. His absolute favorite is a street food traditionally, after all. In fact, he squeezes Hikaru's hand in excitement, pulling it up in front of him with his other fist in an excited gesture and licking his lips as he fantasizes. ]
Hehehe, I hope they have a big, juicy weenie... I want one in my mouth right now...! Should I get it nice and creamy or make myself cry??
